Webinar: Level 1 Elder Abuse Training

This interactive workshop builds upon the Department of Health and Human Services’ online training module that aims to build the capacity of the Victorian workforce to identify and respond to elder abuse and is based on the Victorian government’s practice guide, With respect to age 2009.

Level 1 Elder Abuse Training – Recognising and Responding to Suspected Elder Abuse aims to assist health and community services professionals to more confidentially:

  • Recognise elder abuse – the risk factors, types and potential signs
  • Respond sensitively to older people at risk of, or experiencing elder abuse, & their carers/family
  • Know the types of services available and make appropriate referrals and potential signs
  • Respond sensitively to older people at risk of, or experiencing elder abuse, & their carers/family
  • Know the types of services available and make appropriate referrals.

This training is delivered by the Bouverie Centre as part of the Peninsula Health’s Integrated Model of Care (IMOC) for responding to suspected elder abuse initiative.
