Join Respect Victoria and the National Aging Research Institute (NARI) for our online forum on Preventing elder abuse through intergenerational bonds on Wednesday 6 October, from 10.00am – 11.30am.
The forum will focus on the findings from NARI’s report funded by Respect Victoria: Primary prevention of family violence among older people living in Victoria.
Following a global evidence review that illustrated promising results of intergenerational projects in tackling ageism, NARI developed and delivered a pilot program engaging older and younger Victorians during coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which concluded earlier this year.
The forum will explore the outcomes of the program and the programming elements that need to be considered to ensure success.
Lead researcher Professor Bianca Brijnath, Director Social Gerontology, NARI is the keynote speaker. She will be joined by older and younger Victorians who were both engaged in the program, to provide first hand insight into their experiences.
This forum is designed for anyone working in primary prevention, family violence response, and community services and organisations working with older Victorians.
