Network to host morning tea to discuss ageism for International Older Persons Day

Australia’s first Ageism Awareness Day will coincide with the UN’s International Day of Older Persons on 1 October 2021. Activities on the day will support the growing social movement to shift attitudes towards older age and older people. The Respecting Seniors Network will be participating in Every AGE Counts virtual launch of Ageism Awareness Day at 10am, followed by it;s own virtual morning tea at 11am.

Please tune in to Every AGE Counts launch of Ageism Awareness Day and join Dr Marlene Krasovitsky facilitating a discussion with Monica Trapaga, Kay Patterson AO and Robert Tickner about ageism. They will draw attention to the existence and impacts of ageism and bring this pervasive, highly tolerated form of discrimination and prejudice out of the shadows to the forefront of our minds. By knowing it and naming it, we will be in a much stronger position to act.
