Our Work

The Respecting Seniors Network is helping shape a community where people of all ages are respected and able to live free from violence in all its forms.

  • We seek positive change in our community’s attitudes towards ageing and older people; with the aim of stopping elder abuse before it occurs.
  • We work together to coordinate and support a range of elder abuse prevention activities.

Our work is directed and undertaken by our members, who live and/or work in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area.

Our members are a diverse range of individuals, community groups/clubs and businesses – both for profit and not-for-profit.

We are primarily funded by the Victorian Government.

Our vision is to live and work in a community where people of all ages are respected and able to live free from violence in all its forms.

Our Network

Our members, partners and supporters are core to what we do.

This work helps to:

  • increase individuals and whole of community knowledge of elder abuse and it’s drivers.
  • celebrate people of all ages in our community.
  • improve beliefs, attitudes and behavioural intention of individuals and communities about ageing, gender equality and older people.

This website serves as Frankston and Mornington Peninsula’s dedicated elder abuse prevention information portal – offering a directory of elder abuse response services available to people living in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area. We also host resources for both community and professionals.

Our story

From humble beginnings…

The Respecting Seniors Network started in 2018 previously known as the Frankston Mornington Primary Care Partnership.

In 2022 it transitioned into the Respecting Seniors Network managed by Peninsula Health and funded through the Victorian Government.

Respecting Seniors Network is made up of a dedicated group of professionals from government, organisations and community members who are committed to preventing elder abuse with a local lens for the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula regions.

The Respecting Seniors Network has been funded until 2027 and we can’t wait to work towards creating equality for all in our community!
