About
The Warm Safe Homes Project was originally developed by Dr Becky Nevin, this project is a fun craft activity for all ages and abilities to get involved in. Using a cardboard model of a house participants can develop and design a mini house model, highlighting and drawing objects and things of what makes them feel safe and warm at home. The facilitators have an opportunity to ask questions and start conversations around elder abuse, everyone’s right to feel safe in their own homes and everyone’s right to be respected, especially in their home.
How you can get involved
For World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2024 The Respecting Seniors Network and Peninsula Health distributed over 200 Warm Safe Homes Kits to local Frankston and Mornington Peninsula community centres/groups/libraries and hospitals. If you would like to host a Warm Safe Homes session please hit the contact us button and use the subject heading “Warm Safe Homes” to see how we can assist.
